A Healthy Marriage Church agrees not to allow couples to marry in their church unless they have been engaged for a minimum of 4 (four) months and completed 8 (eight) hours of pre-marital education classes. In addition these churches offer or promote continuing marriage education classes to couples at various stages in the marriage relationship. Many churches have couples who have been married for more than 25 (twenty-five) years who serve as mentors to assist young married couples during the high risk years of their relationship. The mentors encourage the young couples through friendly advice concerning marital issues.
