The Shoals Family Council is an organization designed to promote and support initiatives which strengthen marriages and families.

The group, composed of representatives from various segments of the community, has a fivefold purpose:

• Promote premarital education and counseling
• Strengthen existing marriages
• Develop interventions for divorced couples and their children
• Promote conflict resolution through Biblical peacemaking methods
• Develop interventions which aid families considering divorce
